Lindsay Ontario

A look at downtown Lindsay, Ontario

Lindsay, Ontario is approximately 40km West of Peterborough and is one of the closest major communities outside of the Peterborough area. The population of Lindsay is approximately 20,000 and it is known as being the business and commerce hub for the City of Kawartha Lakes.

While Lindsay was originally a town with it’s own council and government, in 2001 it was officially dissolved and it became a part of the new City of Kawartha Lakes and Victoria County.

Downtown Lindsay is quite a quaint area and a home to some unique shops and stores if you’re looking for something to do outside of Peterborough. The fastest route to get to Lindsay is straight down Highway 7 (from Fowlers Corners), which takes you through Omemee and is about a 30 minute drive. Because of the close proximity, we will occasionally post events taking place in Lindsay in our Peterborough events section, so check that out if you are looking for something to do in the area.
