Description

Lang Pioneer Village

Lang Pioneer Village in Keene, ON has been preserving and recreating the history of Peterborough and the surrounding area since 1967. Our village and museums aim to give our visitors a feeling for what life was like as a 19th century settler in the Petrborough area. Visiting Lang Pioneer Village is like stepping into a time machine and bringing history back to life as you see our authentic costumed interpreters demonstrate the trades, pasttimes and chores that were commonplace during 19th Century living.

Lang Pioneer Village is situated along the Indian River and has over 25 buildings that have all been restored and furnished with furniture and decor from the 19th Century. The buildings were all constructed anywhere from 1825 to 1899.
