Juno award winning Contemporary artist Justin Rutledge will be on stage this Wednesday at Del Crary Park for Peterborough Musicfest.
In 2006, Justin Rutledge was named singer-songwriter of the year by NOW magazine and won this year’s Juno for Best Solo Roots/Traditional Album for Valleyheart. Influenced by Leonard Cohen, Hank Williams, Richard Brautigan, and E.E. Cummings, Rutledge is known for his thought provoking lyrics.
The Early Widows, Justin’s fourth studio album is a stoic collection of songs that rehabilitate the heart and illuminate the dark. Produced with intense fragility by Hawksley Workman, it is an arrestingly moving and lyrically meticulous piece of art penned by one of the most progressive songwriters at work today.
