Peterborough Festival of TreesIf you came here searching for information about the 2014 Peterborough Festival of Trees, then you must not have heard that the Festival Of Trees will no longer be operating. It was announced by event organizers shortly after the 2012 Festival that after 22 straight years (and over 4.3 million dollars raised) the Festival of Trees would no longer continue.

Festival chairman, Wayne Harding told local media that due to declining attendance and revenues, the board had to make a decision to no longer continue on with this long lasting Peterborough tradition. Many residents cited the move to Downtown Peterborough as the main reason behind the declining revenue and attendance, but the board insisted that attendance had been dwindling down each year for the past 5 years and the move to Downtown was not the cause of it.

Regardless of the reason, we know that many residents will be sad to see the festival go, so we created this page to keep the memory of the Festival of Trees alive. We plan on posting photos in the near future and encourage Peterborough residents to come here and share their Festival memories through the comments section below.

What dates did the festival usually run? IIRC it used to be sometime around now. Seems strange without it... I used to go every year.
