Classic Pop artist Barney Bentall will be this week’s Wednesday headliner at Peterborough Musicfest.
Barney Bentall released three independent albums as a solo artist before founding the Legendary Hearts in the mid-eighties. The Hearts self-titled debut album reached Platinum status in Canada, featuring three hit singles, and won a Juno Award.
In 2000, Bentall switched gears completely and moved to British Columbia’s Cariboo region to operate a cattle ranch. The experience was the impetus for his 2007 solo release, Gift Horse. Says Bentall of his sojourn, “Although I spent a lot of time working on the ranch, I never fully removed myself from music.”
